Uses

For the active immunisation of dogs and cats to reduce mortality and clinical signs due to rabies infection.

Immunity has been demonstrated 1 month after vaccination and has been shown to persist up to the next re-vaccination dose.

Dosage and administration

Inject one 1 ml dose subcutaneously, according to the following schedule:

Minimum age at vaccination: 3 months.

Booster vaccination should be given every two years.

Nobivac® Puppy DP. A live attenuated freeze-dried vaccine containing canine distemper virus and canine parvovirus (C154). Active immunisation of young puppies against canine distemper virus, and canine parvovirus infection. The puppy vaccination programme can be completed from a minimum of 10 weeks of age.

Side Effects:

Fever.

Sluggishness.

Loss of appetite.

Facial or paw swelling and/or hives.

Vomiting.

Diarrhea.

Specific Claims

An onset of immunity to the canine distemper virus, canine adenovirus and canine parvovirus vaccine components of 1 week and an onset of immunity of 4 weeks to the canine parainfluenza virus vaccine component has been demonstrated following use of the vaccine.

Dosage:

After reconstitution of the freeze-dried fraction with the diluent fraction, administer one dose of Feligen CRP by the subcutaneous route. One dose irrespective of the feline species, age, breed and weight of the animal. The schedule of vaccination should be suggested as recommended by the Vaccination Guidelines Group of WSAVA.

Nobivac Lepto 1 contains inactivated Leptospira Icterohaemorrhagiae to provide protection against canine Leptospirosis caused by Leptospira Copenhagenii. Nobivac Lepto 1 is a liquid vaccine that can be used for reconstitution of freeze-dried Nobivac canine vaccines.

SIDE EFFECTS:

The Nobivac L4 lepto vaccine, which was rolled out in the UK by Merck's UK subsidiary, MSD Animal Health, is reportedly causing adverse effects in the dogs receiving it, including epilepsy, swollen glands, blindness and death.

Raksharab vaccine contains tissue culture Rabies virus produced in BHK21 cell line, originated from Baby Hamster Kidney cells and inactivated with aziridine compound. Rabies is zoonetic which causes inflammation and rain is usually fatal. Rabies primarily infects mammals and is caused by the rabies virus. The only solution to prevent rabies is timely vaccination with Anti-rabies vaccination.

Indications:

Raksharab vaccine is indicated for immunization of dogs and other domestic animals

Contra Indications:

Animals with pre-existing illness/ incubating diseases/ transportation stress and animals recovering from a disease should not be vaccinated. Animals suffering from fever, malnutrition, skin infection, parasitic infections and infestations and animals under corticosteroid treatment should not be vaccinated.

Side Effects:

Generally no adverse reactions are noticed Occasionally a transient, induration might occur at the site of injection, which resolves in a few days.

Dosage:

1 mL should be administered by intramuscularly or subcutaneously through an area of clean, dry skin with all aseptic precautions. A sterile needle and syringe should be used for each vaccination.

SIDE EFFECTS:
